Wednesday May 29 is the second of two work days, that you can participate in our class Community Project at Ka’ewai Stream in Kalihi.

9:00 AM! Starting earlier so the kids can join us. Already confirmed with Nancy and Jim Mendoza. Nancy will send an email to the classmates. Just wanted to give you the heads up!  –Alan

We will be working again with the elementary school kids, tour the stream and their gardens, and for those who wish, do some work (light duties and plant Native Plants).

Gloves
Footwear – shoes or slippers
Casual Clothes – might get dirty
Sun protection – sunscreen, hat or visor
Tools, snacks and refreshments provided!
Place: Kaʻewae Elementary School1929 Kamehameha IV Rd.
Park on campus in front of school or side of the cafeteria. Meet at the tents along the stream.

You can also make a donation so we can buy native Plants (to be planted on our 2nd visit in May) that are indigenous and appropriate for this environment:

The first rehearsal on May 4 was crucial to learning our specially crafted medley of seven songs to be performed at our Fiftieth Class Reunion on Thursday, JUNE 6 for the Talent Night.  Second rehearsal was May 11.

Final rehearsal (?) is now pau…: Saturday, May 25.  At Uʻi’s Church at 622 JUDD Street.  Rehearsal starts promptly at 10:00AM and can go until 2:00 PM. Potluck to follow!

The KS Athletics Department has a limited supply of KSK T-shirt spirit packs for sale…first come first served basis. Each Spirit Pack includes one navy and one white t-shirt (Shirts are not sold separately and must be the same size). Please contact Athletics Director, Glennie Adams, if you would like to purchase one or many packs. Glennie’s email is gladams@ksbe.edu. Payment will be collected when you pick up your shirt order. We will only be accepting cash for payment.  Shirts are available immediately, and will remain on sale until our inventory has been depleted. You can pick up your order, Monday through Friday at our office located in Building 35 (Koaiʻa) any time between 8:00AM-4:00PM or unless you make special arrangements with Glennie for after-hours pick up. If you have any questions, please contact the athletic office at 842-8842.

50th ReUnion News: Final Notes frm Nancy…

Ku Lokahi, Ku Ha’aheo

Aloha Classmates,
SHO DOH BI SHO BI DOH… Registration was a harrowing experience. Not quite.. sunshine, on a cloudy day. but we survived. KS Alumni Committee is still working tirelessly on behalf of reunion alumnae. All of our classmates that wait listed for boarding have been accommodated.  Yaayy clap, clap. We have been assigned Dorm Kinau Hale on upper campus…..stomp clap, clap.
Same dorm we have had in the past. 41 of us are boarding. The Dorm will be “Home Base” for 1969. There’s a large sitting room, recreation room, kitchen, laundry and big enough Verandah for our gatherings. We will setup tables and chairs, and have coolers available. Better then …goin…to the Chapel of Love…

Just a month until our 50th reunion week. We do hope you plan to join us for one or some of the activities.  Imua 69!

Wear work clothes and bring your own gloves. They will have tools (you can bring small tools if you want). There will be a welcome and some protocol 9:00/9:30. Wednesday June 5 — 2:00 p.m. Talent Practice and 6:30 p.m. Potluck at the Dorm.

Friday June 7 Bowling at Fort Shafter 10:00 am – noon $10 per person
We will car pool to this fun activity. Upon return. we will stop at Ka’ewai Stream for a visit and presentation to Kumu Faith and Kids at 1:00 p.m.

Friday June 7 Class Party Night …and we’ll be having some fun…. at the Halekoa Hotel……
..down by the sea… 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. $75 per person Buffet Dinner, Entertainment, Prizes and Roundtrip Bus Service from the Dorm. No Host Bar.
No Shorts, T-Shirts nor Rubbah Slippahs.

Saturday June 8 Kamehmeha Day Parade– ticket event. Meet 7:15 am at Konia for bus.
50th reunion LU’AU – Meet at Dorm by 2:30 or 3:00pm at Midkiff to stage for Class Photo.
Let me know if you still in need of lu’au ticket, have extra tickets to sell, or would like to purchase photo.
It’s ok if you don’t have luau ticket, Pupu and Fabulous Entertainment are free. Na Makeke always offers great shopping. ..and then it’s back to our Dorm for the last evening. : )
